Incremental Borrowing Rate

The rate that, at the inception of the lease, the lessee would incur to borrow over a similar term the funds necessary to purchase the leased asset. In other words, the interest rate a lessee would have to pay if, instead of leasing, the lessee finances the purchase of the same asset. (Courtesy www.elfaonline.org)
